One more week…

Posted on April 29th, 2005 in Posts | 1 Comment »

Ok… so the iTunes Music Store is addicting. I’ve spent about $30 on it this semester. You find that song that you just can’t live without, and then you find another one, and another one, and another one, and - well you get the picture. Steve Jobs… he’s one smart cookie.

Oh - most of you know I’m a nerd… well, Nokia released some sweet new phones, and I’m gonna give y’all the 411.

Nokia 8800

This was released a week or two ago actually, but - it has some solid features, one being it’s looks. If this phone were to hit the US, I think it could be as popular as the Motorola RAZR, but I’m not even sure if this one is coming to the US.

Nokia N70

All around "good" phone. Slide on the back protects the 2 megapixel camera when not in use, and they put a button to take the picture on the side, so you can hold and use the phone like a camera - but still a very full featured phone.

Nokia N90

This one is just danged cool. The piece that the flips connect to is independent of the flips, so it can swivel around, and the 2 megapixel camera is on that independent swivel, making this phone very versatile. Oh, and Carl Zeiss optics… Carrie knows what I’m talking about.

Nokia N91

This really has potential. With a 4 GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel camera, and dedicated music controls… this is what a "music phone" should be. It comes in 3 colors, a black, a silver, and one I can only think to describe as "metal."

Ok, I’m done being a nerd for today.

The world is changed.

I feel it in the water.
I feel it in the earth.
I smell it in the air.

Sorry, I was in a Lord of the Rings mood.

Welcome.

This is now the fourth version of my website. Except, this is different. Instead of having a site that links to a blog (xanga) - this is my site and my blog.

Explaination: I got real tired of Xanga, and I don’t really know why either. Maybe it’s because everybody and their dog has one? Or maybe it’s because I got frustrated not being able to make it do what I wanted without being a “premium” user? Anyways, this is my new blog, “The Outlet.” I’ll provide the current (events), you plug in (and comment). For those of you who just hate reading a blog that’s not a “xanga”… too bad. Actually, for a couple posts, I’ll post on xanga to let y’all know I’ve posted on here… but I won’t do that for too long. If you really want to read my blog (not like there’s a lot of you, but), how hard is it to open a web browser (especially if you have it bookmarked)? Also, for those of you who use RSS (Really Simple Syndication), my site serves it up (link at the bottom); for those of you who don’t know, here.

This site will have most of the features of my older ones, plus a couple new ones. Over to the right, you can find links to “HSU Hours” - a page with the hours of a few HSU buildings (I’ll expand to include more as I learn them), “Old Versions” - for those of you who’d like to check out what this site has looked like in the past, and “Photo Gallery” - a place for my cameraphone pictures and others. Soon to come will be a “Weather” page, and maybe a reincarnation of the old “Stuff” page. One thing i’d like to do is let you know about and pass along some of the tech-news I get, and tell you why it’s relevant - I just haven’t decided exactly how i’ll do that, wether it will be a “page” or just a category of post.

In “me” news, this has been an interesting semester. The world is changed. As much as I’m ready to be out of here, I know I’m going to miss a lot of people; my friends. Granted, many of them live in the metroplex, but we’ll see; I know i’ll be working during the weekdays.

Anyways, sound off. Let me know what you think. Plug in.

Sia bene.
