Soo… interesting couple of days. Saturday, I spent with the brother, driving around Irving looking for a chair for my desk at home. The chair I have now… well, you know the saying, “You get what you pay for”… I paid a whopping $12. Hey, it’s lasted me a year at least, meaning I paid a dollar a month… not bad, right? The back of this chair is like the backs of “director’s chairs” with fabric stretched between two poles. Well, the fabric ripped down the seam on one side, and now I can’t lean back – yes, this is a problem. Oh well, I’ll just treat myself to a new chair.

Also went and got a haircut… I’m wary of trying new haircut places, but my old place is under new management and has new people, so it was time to try somewhere new. Found a place that wasn’t super busy… and this guy… well, he didn’t know how to cut hair. If any of y’all noticed my haircut Sunday and also noticed it wasn’t spectacular – now you know why. I went back today to get it fixed by someone else at the same shop, and found out why the guy didn’t know how to cut hair – right now, they only have one employee, and she works 12 hours a day, everyday. New management starts tomorrow, and she’ll have her first day off in a long time. The guy was a haircutting student (is there a term for that?) that she had to recruit because she can’t very well just close the store for lunch… she was very nice about the whole thing, and she wouldn’t even let me tip her.

Sunday was neat; I ran spotlight for Steve for both morning services. If you weren’t there, you missed out. Kristy Wilson with a chorus of about 20 other choir members sang “Down to the River to Pray” (known from the movie “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou”) a cappella. Greatness.

So that brings us to today. Monday. I have one week (this week) of work left. Bittersweet. In a lot of ways, I’m ready for the semester to start back up, and in just as many ways, I wish it didn’t have to.

In other news… I’ve added a couple new badges to the links on the right. Check them out. Also, I’ve applied for and received a Creative Commons license for my site. In the end, it may never amount to being more than a cool badge to display on my site (bottom of page), but I like what the Creative Commons stands for, so I’ll support it. Check it out.

Well, that’s it for now. I’ve already rambled enough tonight.

Plug in. Sia bene.
