Well, it’s certainly been an interesting week.

The other night, I’m pretty sure I witnessed a freshman doing his laundry for the first time. Ever. First off, he didn’t sort anything. He stuffed everything into one washer. Then, he didn’t know which load type to pick. He left, and came back about 10 minutes later saying, “I dun forget to put the soap in thar.” Since we were putting loads in about the same time, later I was in there to switch out my loads. He came down the stairs, put his load in the top dryer, walked over to pay with his OneCard, and then he started the bottom dryer - and didn’t even notice. He got about halfway through the room before I stopped him and pointed it out. Ah, freshmen.

Slime started this week. It’s still strange to me - being an upperclassman, that is. Makes me feel that much older to be called “Mr. Goolsbee.” But oh, how I’ve waited for these days. I’m excited about these freshmen. Through all the muck that is going on, these freshmen are pumped about being Slime. It’s impressive.

I think I did pretty good on my microecon test today… we’ll see. At least our professor has a sense of humor. For instance, in the directions at the top of the multiple choice, he wrote, “I think you know how multiple choice works. If you don’t, come ask me, and I’ll tell you after I stop giggling.”

I got the new Death Cab the other day… greatness. I wish I could find lyrics for the iTunes exclusive track, “Start Again.” But alas, I cannot. It’s not even in the nifty “Digital Booklet” that came with the album. I got un-lazy and wrote them out myself… and I like it (it’s got a catchy tune too):

“I don’t know if you can hear me
I’m feeling down and can’t think clearly
And even though it’s complicated
We’ve got time to start again
I don’t know if you can hear me

I’m sorry for the things I’ve said
But some thoughts just won’t leave my head
And even though it’s complicated
We’ve got time to start again
I don’t know if you can hear me

Some things I’d change but it’s too late
I’d take the past and make it straight
And even though it’s complicated
We’ve got time to start again
I don’t know if you can hear me

And even though it’s complicated
We’ve got time to start again
I don’t know if you can hear me”

I am confused. Don’t ask what about; hopefully it will sort itself out soon. Knowing better, I know it probably won’t, but we’ll see.

Plug in. Sia bene.
