Mid-Semester Meltdown

Posted on October 20th, 2006 in Posts | No Comments »

I haven’t posted in awhile… mostly because I haven’t had time. I’ve had project after homework assignment after test to study for, and I’m pretty sure I have God to thank for me not just totally breaking last week, and at a time when I didn’t really deserve His support.

It’s fall break, but I don’t get to go home this time. Thursday night was the annual Showcase Night, and the freshmen didn’t quite finish, so they’re finishing up as I type this, watching them work diligently. They chose themes of “old and new” for the cases, and I think they’ve pulled a good crop of pictures. Tonight and tomorrow night is the Dean Smith Celebrity Rodeo, and while it’s for a good cause, I’m a little tired of having a CBB event every weekend… we’ll get a break soon.

I have never been the best student, and definitely haven’t been an A/B honor roll student all my life, so I was a little surprised and at the same time honored to be invited to be inducted into Delta Mu Delta, a business fraternity for students in the top 20% of their business core. The induction ceremony was fairly quick and painless, and I got a cool certificate out of it. We don’t do much as a fraternity, but it will look good on my resume.

And now, to rest.

Pictures from Pizza Social are up either here or on my flickr account.
Pictures from intramural and HSU football games are coming soon.
Pictures from the Boston trip… if you’ve got them, get them to me soon.

I’m not dead yet.

Yeah, it’s been awhile.

This year has started off so weird. For one, I’m a junior now - meaning I am one of those “old people” I used hold in high regard, or be afraid of. Hopefully, I’m not someone the freshmen are afraid of. Also, I’m living in the campus apartments now with David, Lloyd, and Matt. It’s weird at times, and smells weird at times - but otherwise - I’m happy to be in the apartments… so much better than the dorm.

Classes are going well. I’m still working at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church as the Media Intern there, and I’ve picked up a second job, working in the new computer lab on the second floor of Johnson, Monday and Tuesday nights from 7:30 to 10.

Band is going well. Though, because of band, I don’t have a free weekend till November… who comes up with these schedules?

I have a dilema… I really like cantaloupe. However, it appears that I’m allergic to cantaloupe, cause the last two times I’ve had it, my throat has gotten all itchy-scratchy, and my nose/sinuses have gone crazy. Did I mention I really like cantaloupe? Do you see the problem here?

That’s enough for now.
