jlgoolsbee.com is hosted by Dreamhost - and I couldn’t be happier with their service and level of commitment.

The site is powered by Wordpress, “a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability.” The theme is a modified version of “ColdBlue” by WebRevolutionary.

WordPress plugins used include:

  • Askimet
    Catches comment spam.
  • Executable PHP Widget
Allows me to insert arbitrary PHP statements in widgets.
  • Feedburner FeedSmith
Originally authored by Steve Smith, this plugin detects all ways to access your original WordPress feeds and redirects them to your FeedBurner feed so you can track every possible subscriber.
  • Feed List
Displays any ATOM or RSS feed in your blog; on this site it gives life to the “Clippings” page, which is on hiatus for the time being.
  • Flickr Photo Gallery
This powers the “Photos” page, pulling my photos and sets from my Flickr account.
  • FlickrRSS
Shows thumbnails from my Flickr account in the sidebar of every page.
  • Google Analyticator
Plugin for WordPress blogs to report data to Google Analytics, regardless of site theme or configuration.
  • Google Sitemaps
This generator will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog.
  • KB Advanced RSS Widget
An RSS widget that gives more options than the standard RSS widget.
  • RSS Stream
This powers my LifeStream page; give it your usernames to various online services and it’ll show the world what you’ve been up to.
  • Smart Archives
A simple, clean, and future-proof way to present your archives.
  • Twitter Tools
This plugin creates an integration between your WordPress blog and your Twitter account. Pull your tweets into your blog and create new tweets on blog posts and from within WordPress.
  • Wordpress.com Stats
Gives me even more statistics, provided by wordpress.com.
  • WordPress Reports
Generates reports form Google Analytics and Feedburner data.
